Lisa Boothe: 'If the Republican Party is the party of weirdos, the Democrat Party is [the party] of purple-haired freaks’

Fox News Contributor Comments On Trending Meme Of Calling Republicans 'Weird'

Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe commented on the recent trending meme of branding Republicans largely as "weird" by pointing out oddities of Democrats and other liberals.

The meme appears to have originated last week after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who is currently a contender for Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, referred to former President Donald Trump and his newly selected running mate J.D. Vance as "weird" during an appearance on MSNBC.

The Minnesota governor has since reused the term and has been joined by other Democratic politicians including Harris, who said "Some of what [Trump] and his running mate are saying is just plain weird" during a Sunday campaign stop.

Online, users have turned Walz's remarks into a meme by sharing images and videos of Democrats and other liberals engaging in odd behavior with the caption: "JD Vance is weird."

During a Wednesday broadcast of Fox News' The Faulkner Focus, contributor Lisa Boothe tackled the trending meme and pointed out oddities plaguing liberals branding their political rivals as "weird."

“I don’t think the Democrats can call the Republicans weird, and if they are, they’re the party of freaks," Boothe began.

“I mean, Joe Biden was the one that picked a guy who has an animal roleplaying fetish that he’s open about that [he] went on to steal suitcases," she said of former Biden administration official Sam Brinton before referencing transgender activist and influencer Rose Montoya. "He had a transgender activist in the South Lawn flashing the cameras.”

Boothe also referenced last December's leaked gay sex tape filmed in a Senate briefing room, along with the discovery of cocaine in the White House.

“So if the Republican Party is the party of weirdos, the Democrat Party is [the party] of purple-haired freaks," Boothe said before pivoting her criticism towards Vice President and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. "But beyond that, let’s get to the issues. Kamala Harris can try to lie all she wants, because that’s what she is. I mean, we all remember when she stood on the debate stage during the 2020 presidential debate when she was vying but had to drop out before Iowa, she basically called Joe Biden a racist, signed up to be his VP, and then when asked about it, she was like, ‘Oh, it’s just politics, right?'”

The Fox News contributor warned Harris would "sell you out."

"She’s the kind of politician, Kamala Harris is, who punishes hardworking Americans and rewards criminality," Boothe added.

The contributor continued:

You know, if you like affordable energy, too bad, she wants to ban offshore drilling and fracking. If you like your guns, too bad, she wants to ban AR-15s and confiscate them. If you like your private insurance, too bad, she said she’s getting rid of it and supports Medicare for All. But what does she support? She supports decriminalizing illegal border crossings. So if you’re an immigrant coming in here, you’re fine. She also told Jacob Blake, a guy who pulled a knife on police officers, that she was proud of him. So, hardworking Americans, she doesn’t like you. Criminal? She loves you.

Earlier this week, Vance joined in on the trending meme by sharing a 2019 clip of then-Sen. Kamala Harris telling her preferred pronouns to then-CNN anchor Chris Cuomo during a 2019 presidential town hall.

"My pronouns are she, her, and hers," Harris said after Cuomo introduced her to the Los Angeles crowd.

Cuomo then repeated Harris' pronouns before quipping: "Mine too."

"JD Vance is weird," Vance captioned his post.
