Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance joined in on a trending meme of critics claiming he and other Republicans were "weird."
References to Vance, former President Donald Trump and Republicans largely as "weird" appear to have originated last Thursday after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who is currently a contender for Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, commented on Trump and his newly selected running mate during a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC.
"These are weird people on the other side," Walz said. "They wanna take books away, they wanna be in your exam room. That's what it's coming down to, and don't get sugar coating this, these are weird ideas." I’m telling you: these guys are weird. pic.twitter.com/fvNRNf7T7T

Walz again claimed Trump and Vance were "weird" during another Thursday interview on the network.
"I see Donald Trump talking about the wonderful Hannibal Lecter or whatever weird thing he's on tonight," Walz said in reference to Trump's RNC speech.
The Minnesota governor has since reused the term and has been joined by other Democratic politicians including Harris, who said "Some of what [Trump] and his running mate are saying is just plain weird" during a Sunday campaign stop.
Online, users have turned Walz's remarks into a meme by sharing images and videos of Democrats and other liberals engaging in odd behavior with the caption: "JD Vance is weird." “JD Vance is weird” pic.twitter.com/5iKaLk5Ugs "JD Vance is weird" pic.twitter.com/hvApmFiDlm JD Vance is so weird pic.twitter.com/zlKE1rL75d

On Saturday, Vance appeared to chime in on the meme by quoting a resurfaced video of Harris claiming the decline in child-birth rates was directly related to "climate anxiety."
"It's almost like these people don't want young people starting families or something. Really weird stuff," Vance wrote in his post. It's almost like these people don't want young people starting families or something. Really weird stuff. https://t.co/b3dot3ZCOh

On Sunday evening, Vance directly referenced the meme by sharing a 2019 clip of then-Sen. Kamala Harris telling her preferred pronouns to then-CNN anchor Chris Cuomo during a 2019 presidential town hall.
"My pronouns are she, her, and hers," Harris said after Cuomo introduced her to the Los Angeles crowd.
Cuomo then repeated Harris' pronouns before quipping: "Mine too."
