Bill Maher Says Joy Behar Will 'Lose All Credibility' For Aversion To Criticizing Biden

Bill Maher suggested The View host Joy Behar would "lose all credibility" over her aversion to criticizing President Joe Biden out of fear of influencing undecided voters away from him.

Maher appeared on the program Tuesday while promoting his new book, What This Comedian Said Will Shock You.

At one point, Behar admitted she avoided criticizing Biden out of fear her remarks could sow doubt in his leadership.

"I’m nervous about saying anything against Biden because I feel as — you know, not that I have that much power, and you have some, more than I do, obviously," Behar told Maher.

Maher objected to Behar's assessment, to which The View host asked if Maher worried he could influence an undecided voter away from Biden.

“I think you lose all credibility,” Maher replied. “I do. My bond with my audience has always been I don’t pull a punch. My bond with my audience is you’re not going to like everything I say, but you know I’m saying what I really think is true.”

Maher noted that although Trump, 77, was only several years younger than Biden, 81, he appeared more youthful.

“Look, Biden just presents as old,” Maher told the hosts. “It’s not really fair because he’s almost the same age, Trump is almost the same age as him. But Trump doesn’t present that way.”

“You look at somebody right away, you can kind of just sum them up,” Maher added. “We are not young, but we don’t present as old. Biden does. I saw him yesterday making that speech, I mean, I’m sorry, he’s cadaver-like.”

When Behar pressed Maher on Biden's cognitive ability, the comedian said he hoped Biden would exit the presidential race "because he's just lost the faith of people."

The comedian then compared Biden's insistence on running for re-election with late-Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's refusal to retire during former President Barack Obama's time in office.

“I said he’s going to be Ruth-Bader Biden, that’s the term I use,” Maher said. “I said Biden shouldn’t do that. But he’s Dracula. He’s crossed oceans of time to be here and he’s not going to give it up now.”

In February, Maher called for Democrats to swap out Biden with a different candidate during the Democratic National Convention later this year.
