Arab American Michigan Voter Explains Support For Trump Over Biden

A Michigan Arab American voter explained his decision to support former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden in the election this November.

Michigander Mike Hacham, a twice-Trump voter, detailed his continued support for Trump during a Tuesday appearance on Fox News' America's Newsroom.

Host Bill Hemmer asked Hacham if his aversion to Biden stemmed from concerns over the economy or Israel's military response in Gaza after the last year's attack on the Jewish state by Islamic militant group Hamas.

"It’s a whole combination,” Hacham replied. “Biden has repeatedly lied to my community. They took our votes for granted within my community — and not only within the Arab American community but in the metro Detroit area. Let’s face it: Biden had made promises and failed on those promises."

"Biden has constantly lied, time and time again," Hacham added.

Hacham also commented on Biden's push to transition the automotive industry towards electric vehicles.

"That sector has a failed infrastructure that Biden promised to fix," he said.

The Michigander then transitioned toward Biden's handling on the economy.

“Auto workers, by the time they get their paycheck, can barely put food on the table for their families. I see it firsthand on the ground,” Hacham continued. “I don’t need paid consultants from D.C. or experts to tell me that the economy is bad. We see it on the ground here first.”

Hemmer asked if Biden pushing for a ceasefire from Israel would be "satisfactory" to him.

“Absolutely not,” Hacham replied. “A ceasefire is beyond the debate of whether myself or Arab Americans will be voting for Biden."

Hacham said Biden has "basically divorced" Arab Americans.

"He basically shot us in the back by his failed policies and promises," Hacham continued. "We need to bring jobs back to America.”

"We don't need to be supporting countries that are engaging in genocide," he added.

Hacham lamented America's continued funding of foreign wars and said funds instead should be invested in American cities.

Earlier this month, Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is Muslim, encouraged Michiganders to "vote uncommitted" in protest of Biden's support for Israel.

“We don’t want a country that supports wars and bombs and destruction. We want to support life. We want to stand up for every single life killed in Gaza,” Tlaib said. “This is the way you can raise our voices, to make us even more visible."

“Right now, we feel completely neglected and just unseen by our government. If you want us to be louder, then come here and vote uncommitted," she added.

Biden lost nearly 14% of Democratic voters who voted "Uncommitted" in Michigan's Tuesday primary.
