Trump Pans Biden's White House Correspondents' Dinner

Former President Donald Trump panned this weekend's 2024 White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD).

The WHCD was held on Saturday evening in Washington, D.C. and was headlined by Saturday Night Live's (SNL) Colin Jost, who threw jabs at the former president during his speech. President Joe Biden also took aim at Trump delivering a series of his own quips at Trump's expense.

During the event, a group of anti-Israel protestors demonstrated outside and draped a Palestinian flag from the Washington Hilton hotel window.

Trump panned the evening and speakers in a Truth Social post.

"The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was really bad. Colin Jost BOMBED, and Crooked Joe was an absolute disaster! Doesn’t get much worse than this!" Trump wrote.

During Jost's speech, the SNL veteran took a series of jabs at the former president, though fired one joke off at Biden noting the president struggled to maintain the support of black voters leading up to November's election.

“My ‘Weekend Update’ co-anchor Michael Che was going to join me here tonight but in solidarity with President Biden I decided to lose all my black support,” Jost quipped.

The SNL veteran then joked that "Sleepy Joe" was up after 10 p.m. at the correspondent's dinner while Trump appeared to fall asleep during his court appearances.

"Fox News said he was just being anti-woke," Jost joked.

Jost then referenced his late grandfather who supported the president's 2020 bid.

“He voted for you and the reason that he voted for you is because you’re a decent man,” Jost said to Biden. “My grandpa voted for decency and decency is why we’re all here tonight.”

Biden similarly took aim at Trump's court appearances, referring to him as "Sleepy Don" while also joking about his age in comparison with the former president.

“The 2024 election is in full swing and, yes, age is an issue. I’m a grown man running against a 6-year-old,” Biden said. “Well, I feel great. I really feel great.”

"Age is the only thing we have in common. My vice president actually endorses me," Biden said, referencing former Vice President Mike Pence's lack of endorsement of Trump before referring to Trump's legal battles. "Donald has had a few tough days lately."

"You might call it stormy weather," he quipped in reference to Trump's "hush money" trial in which adult film actress Stormy Daniels was allegedly paid off by Trump's campaign during his initial 2016 presidential run.

The president then mocked Trump's recent partnership with singer and songwriter Lee Greenwood selling "God Bless the USA" Bibles.

The remainder of Biden's remarks took a serious tone as the president warned of Trump's threat to democracy and spread of "disinformation."
