Former President Donald Trump shot back at GOP runner-up Nikki Haley's speech after Tuesday night's New Hampshire primary.
The former President noted his Tuesday night victory was his third New Hampshire primary win following his initial 2016 presidential bid and first re-election effort in 2020 before addressing Haley's speech.
"Wow, she’s doing a speech like she won," he said of his opponent, who initially addressed her crowd when she trailed Trump by seven points. "She didn’t win. She lost.”
Trump noted Haley's remarks following last week's Iowa caucus in which she claimed the election results narrowed the Republican primary down to a "two-person race." Haley came in third behind GOP runner-up Ron DeSantis.
“Last week we had a little bit of a problem. If you remember, Ron was very upset, because she ran up and she pretended she won Iowa," Trump recounted. "I looked around and I said, ‘Didn’t she come in third?’”
"Then I looked at the polls, she was talking about most win-ability," he said.
"We have won almost every single poll in the last three months against crooked Joe Biden. Almost every poll. And she doesn’t win those polls," Trump said.
The former President said Haley's remarks were "not your typical victory speech," adding Haley had a "very bad night."
The Associated Press projected Trump the winner of last night's primary shortly after polls closed. The move followed last week's unprecedented projection of Trump's victory in Iowa by the outlet with less than 1% of precincts reporting at the time.
Earlier Tuesday, Haley sparred with Fox News hosts during an appearance on the network and claimed the outlet wanted to "coronate" Trump as the Republican nominee.
"Look at the media saying, 'This is Donald Trump's to have,'" Haley said. "Look at the political class all coalescing and saying, 'Everybody needs to get out.'"
Haley also insisted she would remain in the race regardless of Tuesday night's outcome.
"I want to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory tonight. He earned it and I want to acknowledge that," she told her camp following the New Hampshire primary and reiterated her campaign would move forward into the next primary. "New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not last in the nation. This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go. And next one is my sweet state of South Carolina."
Haley and Trump will face off in the Nevada primary on Feb. 8.
