Trump Dominates In Idaho, Missouri Caucuses

Former President Donald Trump dominated in the Idaho and Missouri caucuses held this weekend.

Trump led lone Republican challenger Nikki Haley by over 70 points in the Idaho caucus, winning 32 delegates.

The former president also secured an unprecedented 100% victory in Missouri on Saturday.

Missouri employs a "caucus-convention" system for its 54 delegates. Eleven statewide delegates are awarded to the caucus winner with another five awarded from each of the state's eight congressional districts. The remaining three delegates awarded by Missouri's state party chairman, along with Missouri's Republican national committeeman and committeewoman, who are free to select a candidate of their choice regardless of the caucus results, per The Associated Press.

Idaho GOP Chairwoman Dorothy Moon commented on Trump's victory in the state in a statement following the caucus.

“Idaho has reaffirmed its steadfast support for President Trump today,” Moon said. “We recognize that our state stands as a beacon of support for Republican ideals, reaffirming Idaho’s status as ‘Trump Country’ with his resounding victory in our caucus."

Moon said the "enthusiasm, and dedication" of Trump supporters in the state were "emblematic of the strength and unity" of Idaho's Republican Party.

"Trump’s agenda is what strengthened our nation before, and it will once more. To secure our southern border, grow our flailing economy, and shield our nation from the radical leftist agenda, it is imperative that we rally together as a united party," she added.

Haley secured her first primary win in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, leading Trump by nearly 30 points.

Prior to Sunday's primary, Haley indicated she may not abide by her pledge with the Republican National Committee (RNC) to support the eventual nominee.

"I think I’ll make what decision I want to make,” Haley said.

The former president commented on Haley's Washington win, noting he "purposely" avoided votes in the nation's capital citing "very few delegates, and no upside."

"Birdbrain spent all of her time, money and effort there. Over the weekend we won Missouri, Idaho, and Michigan - BIG NUMBERS - Complete destruction of a very weak opponent," Trump said of Haley. "The really big numbers will come on Super Tuesday."

Haley faces an uphill battle against the former president as Trump has secured 247 of the 1,215 delegates required for the Republican nomination.

Trump may soon clinch the Republican nomination as 874 delegates are up for grabs during tomorrow's Super Tuesday, followed by another 170 delegates across upcoming elections in American Samoa, Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Washington State next week.
