Trump Calls Kim Reynolds 'Most Unpopular Governor' In The Country

Former President Donald Trump said Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is the "most unpopular governor" in the country.

Trump's video follows Reynolds' recent endorsement of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for President in 2024 earlier this month.

“Kim Reynolds of Iowa has gone from a popular governor to the most unpopular governor in the entire United States of America,” Trump said of the Iowa governor. “Not an easy feat. Her endorsement of Ron DeSanctimonious, who is 50 points down to me in the polls, has given him exactly zero bounce. He’s a wounded bird falling violently from the sky.”

“I wonder what position Kim was promised in order to back someone who is so far down in the polls,” he continued. “I got Iowa, first in the nation, ethanol security, and $28 billion for our great farmers in Iowa and Nebraska and Wisconsin, and many other farming areas of our country. $28 billion for the farmers. I also protected Social Security and Medicare; DeSanctimonious and Nikki Haley did absolutely nothing. Make America Great Again.”

During an interview with NBC News earlier this month, Reynolds said the last time she talked to the former President was when Trump "called to ask if [she] would endorse him."

"I said I wasn't," Reynolds said.

On Wednesday, Reynolds released an advertisement with PAC Never Back Down, who has also thrown support behind the Florida Governor.

"Getting to know Ron and Casey and their children tells me everything I need to know about why Ron is who he is, and accomplishes what he does," Reynolds said of DeSantis and his family.

Reynolds said DeSantis was "focused, principled, and results driven."

"He gets things done," Reynolds said, detailing DeSantis' roles as a leader, veteran, father, and husband. "A man of honor. I am so proud to endorse Ron DeSantis for President."

Earlier this week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott threw support behind Trump in his bid for re-election.

“We need a president who’s going to secure the border,” said Abbott. “We need Donald J. Trump back as our president of the United States of America.”

Current polling from RealClearPolitics shows Trump maintaining a sizeable 46.3 point lead over the Florida governor. Runner-up DeSantis leads former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley by 3 points.
