Podcast Cut Short After Destiny Appears To Encourage Boogie2988 To Self-Harm

A Wednesday episode of Lolcow Live was cut short after Steven Williams, who professionally goes by his online handle "Boogie2988," or simply "Boogie," appeared to attempt self-harm during a livestream.

In November 2022, Williams announced he had polycythemia vera, a blood cancer, though has recently come under intense scrutiny after streamer Steven Bonnell, who professionally goes by "Destiny," called his cancer diagnosis into question during a broadcast of Lolcow Live earlier this month.

In the aftermath of Destiny's appearance on Lolcow Live, fellow hosts Jordie Jordan, who goes by "WingsofRedemption," or simply "Wings," Tommy Callanan, and Daniel Keem, who goes by "Keemstar," deduced that although Williams may in fact have cancer as his doctor determined he had a high red blood cell count, he has not been officially diagnosed.

During Wednesday's livestream, Williams acknowledged he had jumped the gun on announcing his cancer diagnosis. Keemstar, creator of Lolcow Live, said he was wrestling with his decision to fire Williams for misleading viewers about a cancer diagnosis and ultimately decided to let him go.

Later in the broadcast, Keemstar brought on fellow YouTuber Mutahar "Muta" Anas, along with Destiny, to further discuss Williams' misleading claims of cancer. Despite having a somber, apologetic demeanor throughout the broadcast, Williams became irate as Destiny and Muta suggested Williams was a pathological liar.

In response, Williams, who is morbidly obese and has previously claimed to have had suicidal ideation, said he overate as a form of self-harm.

Destiny took issue with Williams' claim saying, "You know cutting is way cheaper, right?"

"One razor blade will last you a lifetime," Destiny said, to which Williams said he previously self-harmed.

"Last I f---ing heard, the guy who laughed at Donald Trump's assassination attempt is telling people to cut their f---ing arms," Williams said in reference to Destiny's response to victims and supporters of the former president after his failed assassination attempt. "Go f--- yourself."

"I'm just saying that it would be a lot cheaper than wasting your money on Diet Dr. Mountain Dew, or whatever the f---," Destiny said.

"Oh, you wanna see that? Hold on," Williams said as he got up from his chair and walked off camera. "I'll do it. Give me 30 seconds."

Destiny said Williams was projecting the "next Boogie self-harm," adding the YouTuber was waiting for Keemstar's instruction to stop his behavior.

"Well I'm falling for it," Keemstar responded. "He better not do anything f---ing stupid."

Destiny then claimed Williams would return with a razor and threaten to self-harm as a stunt.

Williams then walked back into frame and sat down with a knife while holding his arm up insisting Destiny had instructed him to self-harm.

"This is so much better than eating a sandwich, Destiny," Williams said as Keemstar cut the stream short.

Keemstar later said he had confirmed Williams had not self-harmed after the stream in an X post.
