NBC News Hires Former RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel as On-Air Contributor

Former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel has been hired as an on-air contributor at NBC News.

As part of her deal, McDaniel is also expected to appear on MSNBC, according to a report from the New York Times.

“It couldn’t be a more important moment to have a voice like Ronna’s on the team,” Carrie Budoff Brown, who oversees NBC News political coverage, wrote in a memo obtained by the Times, adding McDaniel would provide “an insider’s perspective on national politics and the future of the Republican Party.” Ms. McDaniel will be especially involved in the coverage of the 2024 campaign, including election nights.

McDaniel had been fiercely critical of NBC and MSNBC in the past.

Just last May, McDaniel posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, calling MSNBC's pundits "primetime propagandists."

"MSNBC’s primetime propagandists wasted countless hours pushing the Russia collusion hoax," McDaniel wrote.

"Last night, they discussed Durham's report for barely 10 minutes, in which they insisted the weaponization of government found in the report was no big deal," the post continued.

McDaniel was championed by Trump to lead the party after she helped him win Michigan in 2016. She assumed the chair position in 2017 and was reelected four times.

McDaniel is scheduled to appear on “Meet The Press” on Sunday. It will be her first public interview since resigning from the RNC.
