Musk Doubles Down On Trump Endorsement, Will Donate $45M Monthly To Super PAC

Off the heels of his recent endorsement of former President Donald Trump for reelection this November, Elon Musk plans to make monthly donations of $45 million to a new super PAC in support of Trump.

According to a Monday report from The Wall Street Journal, Musk will commit $45 million to America PAC.

America PAC is backed by Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, along with former United States ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband Joe, who serves as the chief executive of Alliance Resource Partners.

It was revealed last week that Musk had previously donated to America PAC. However, upon revealing the group had raised over $8 million, Musk was not included on America PAC's report.

"Arrogant billionaires only out for themselves are not what America wants or what America needs," a Biden campaign spokesperson told Bloomberg in a statement. "Elon knows Trump is a sucker who will sell America out, cutting his taxes while raising taxes on the middle class by $2,500."

While speaking during a Butler, Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt after a shooter opened fire at the stage. Along with the former president, two others were injured along with a third man who was fatally wounded while protecting his wife and daughter.

Shortly after the shooting, Musk took to his platform X to endorse Trump for reelection this November.

"I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery," Musk wrote

After announcing Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his running mate, Musk praised Trump's decision in an X post.

"Resounds with victory," Musk wrote in another post.

Musk, who has historically voted Democrat, announced in June 2022 that he had cast his first Republican vote for Mayra Flores in the Texas Republican primary. The X owner went on to indicate he may support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for president.

Last November, Musk said he would not support President Joe Biden's reelection bid, despite having voted for him in 2020. Musk also said he would not support then-Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley for president.

“I think I would not vote for Biden,” Musk said. “I’m not saying I’d vote for Trump, but I mean this is definitely a difficult choice here.”
