Tech mogul and X owner Elon Musk said he will not support President Joe Biden's bid for re-election in 2024, nor would he vote for former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley for President.
Musk made his comment during Wednesday's 2023 DealBook Summit held with Andrew Ross Sorkin at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Sorkin asked why Musk, who has expressed concern over climate change, why he would attend a fundraiser for Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who has expressed skepticism over climate change.
“I wanted to hear what Vivek had to say,” Musk said. “Because I think some of his things ... he says, I think, are pretty solid.”
Although Musk previously said his "preference" for a presidential candidate would be someone like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is also seeking the GOP nomination alongside Haley in the 2024 presidential election, the tech mogul reiterated he hasn't endorsed any candidate yet.
Sorkin asked Musk if he would vote for Biden or former President Donald Trump, who is also seeking re-election in 2024.
“I think I would not vote for Biden,” Musk said. “I’m not saying I’d vote for Trump, but I mean this is definitely a difficult choice here.”

Sorkin noted Haley's previous support to end online anonymity and asked if Musk would support her for President instead.
“No, I think that’s outrageous,” Musk responded. “I’m not gonna vote for some pro-censorship candidate like that.”
During the interview, the tech mogul also warned of government overreach and the threat to freedom of speech via speech regulation in the United States.
“The reason for the First Amendment for freedom of speech is because the people that immigrated to this country came from places where there was not freedom of speech,” he said. “And, and they were like, ‘You know what, we got to make sure that that’s constitutional’. Because where they came from, if they said something they would be put in prison [or] something bad would happen to them.”
In a viral moment from Wednesday's DealBook Summit, Musk explicitly addressed advertisers boycotting the platform saying, "Go f--- yourself."
“Don’t advertise,” Musk told Sorkin of advertisers fleeing X.
“You don’t want them to advertise?” Sorkin asked.
“No,” the tech mogul replied. “If somebody’s gonna try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go f--- yourself."
"Go. F---. Yourself," he reiterated. "Is that clear? I hope it is."
