Michael Moore Calls For Biden's Resignation

Off the heels of his withdrawal from the November election, President Joe Biden has faced a call for his resignation by filmmaker Michael Moore.

For nearly a month, Biden has faced calls for his exit from the November race after his concerning debate performance against former President Donald Trump late last month.

On Sunday afternoon, Biden officially ended his candidacy for reelection.

Moore took to his Substack on Monday to praise Biden's exit from the race as a "true profile in courage, [and] a selfless act for which he will be honored and remembered for years to come."

"May I ask you, Mr. President, for one more brave and bold action?" Moore wrote. "Kamala Harris will be in a much stronger position to win if she can run as the President of the United States. As the incumbent President."

The filmmaker then suggested Vice President Harris' public image may improve if Americans have the opportunity to see her as the Commander in Chief in the months leading up to November.

"She is fierce, and compassionate, and unstoppable," Moore wrote. "She will have the power to issue significant executive orders that can provide help to the middle class, protect the environment, restore basic women’s rights. And to face down the man who has promised to be a dictator on Day One. For this takedown, I want a front row seat. And a large popcorn."

The filmmaker then went on to propose Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as Harris' running mate as a "historic move" that would assist turnout for Harris in the state.

"Hear me loud and clear: Trump. Is. Beatable," he continued. "Soooo beatable!! And he knows it. Trump is going to lose because we are the majority. America hates what he stands for."

Earlier this month, Moore joined the growing number of Democrats and outspoken liberals who began calling for Biden's exit from the presidential race after his debate performance against Trump.

The filmmaker previously said Harris was "effectively the incumbent president."

"There will be no real convention fight, and nearly every American who had planned to vote for Biden will vote for Harris," he added.

Harris received Biden's endorsement for president and is the presumptive Democratic nominee.
