'Father's Day Heaven!': Schumer Posts, Deletes Photo Of Him Grilling Undercooked Burgers With Cheese

In honor of Father's Day, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer posted a photo of himself grilling burgers and then deleted the post after it was met with overwhelming criticism.

On Sunday, Schumer praised his daughter for purchasing a house with a backyard and celebrated the occasion by having their first family barbecue.

"Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years, but my daughter and her wife just bought a house with a backyard and for the first time we're having a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill!" Schumer wrote. "Father's Day Heaven!"

The post was later met with intense mockery as critics noted the New York senator had put cheese on what appeared to be an undercooked burger patty.

"Hello fellow human and voter. I am totally normal and just like you," wrote 9mmSMG in an X post. "You'll notice I'm making food. I do this all the time. I prefer my raw burger with cheese? How about you? I love food and human things. Sulfur smell? No, that is just the grilling machine."

"Chuck Schumer is 73 years old. Remarkably, he has yet to master the art of grilling a simple burger," wrote another user. "Nonetheless, some people inexplicably have faith in his leadership and believe that his Democratic Party thinks gas stoves are bad for the planet, but gas grills are fine. Sad and pathetic."

Another user mentioned that fellow New York politician Gov. Kathy Hochul had similarly shared a photo of herself grilling, noting neither appeared to understand proper grilling etiquette.

"What is it with Democrats and not knowing how to use a grill? Between Kathy Hochul in a white dress and Chuck Schumer," the user wrote. "There's enough uncooked food here to make a ton of people very sick."

Others noted Schumer had possibly cross contaminated after placing a pair of glasses on the cutting board next to the grill.

"Everyone is obsessed that Chuck Schumer (possibly) tried to kill everyone by serving them raw meat. My question: Why did he put his glasses (!) on a cutting board that was covered in pathogens, brain eating worms, and parasites? Or, it was fake photo op," one user wrote.

Others made memes of Schumer's photo, making him appear to be a McDonald's worker.

Schumer later deleted the photo following the criticism.
