Dylan Mulvaney Releases Debut Pop Song 'Days Of Girlhood'

Trans activist Dylan Mulvaney has entered the music industry with the release of a debut pop song.

"Days of Girlhood," released Wednesday, discusses female stereotypes including depression, antidepressants, and shopping. The song also discusses other female tropes including the "walk of shame," wearing makeup, and appears to hint at the trans activists infamous Bud Light sponsorship.

"The patriarchy is over, you can hold our beer," Mulvaney sings.

The track's accompanying music video features the trans activist trying on clothes, sitting in a bubble bath, and dancing with women while surrounded by pink aesthetic props.

Mulvaney teased the song's release in a series of TikTok posts.

"Mom brought me into the world / Sister taught me how to 'Girl,'" Mulvaney sings. "Best friend coached me how to text / The boy toy that I'm dating next / Girls who helped show me the way / They're why I'm an ‘It Girl’ today"

The video ends with Mulvaney's catch phrase, "Love ya!"

The song's title is a reference to Mulvaney's "Days of Girlhood" TikTok video series which documented the trans activist’s life after identifying as a woman.

Last week, Mulvaney was featured in an International Women's Day Instagram post with Lady Gaga.

Mulvaney shared a series of pictures along with one video of the TikTok influencer and Gaga with a caption reading, “Happy International Women’s Day.”

“I’m putting you on my vision board, for life,” Gaga says in the video before hugging Mulvaney. “Put this on your vision board.”

The post’s comments overflowed with critics noting Mulvaney was a biological male, along with others taking issue with what appeared to be Gaga’s promotion of Mulvaney.

Bud Light, along with parent company Anheuser-Busch, succumbed to a massive loss in sales after sponsoring Mulvaney last year. Mulvaney reported "a hard six months" in the aftermath of Bud Light’s sponsorship and referred to the incident as “beergate.”

Bud Light's sponsorship was initially revealed in a video by the TikTok influencer sharing a can of the adult beverage with Mulvaney's face on it.

“Bud Light sent me possibly the best gift ever. A can with my face on it,” Mulvaney said as an image of the product appears onscreen with a caption reading “CHEERS TO 365 DAYS OF BEING A GIRL.”

A second video featured Mulvaney laying in a bubble bath with over a dozen Bud Light cans in the background. The TikTok influencer reaches for a can from behind and opens it before dancing while sitting in the tub.

In what appears to be a the company's attempt to correct their controversial partnership with Mulvaney, Bud Light announced a partnership with comedian Shane Gillis last month.

"Welcome to the team, Shane Gillis. Excited to be a part of your 2024 tour," the company wrote.

Bud Light also partnered with UFC last year, becoming the mixed martial arts league's official beer sponsor.
