Detransitioner Chloe Cole was censored by Instagram on Saturday.
While the reason for Instagram's decision to censor Cole is unclear, the detransitioner shared an image of Instagram's message showing her account bio which details she is a 19-year old female with two X chromosomes and "former trans kid."
"Started T and blockers at 13," reads Cole's bio, which briefly details her detransition story. "Double mastectomy at 15, detransitioned at 16."
According to the image provided by Cole, her account will not be shown to non-followers through Instagram's algorithm. Her content won't appear on the platform's "explore" or "search" features, nor will it be shown to other users as a "suggested user." Cole's content will also not show up in reels or feed recommendations.
Beneath the image of her account bio, Instagram detailed the platform's "guidance on violence." "Our Recommendations Guidelines help to promote content that fosters a safe community on Instagram," reads the platform's message. "We try not to recommend content or accounts that show violence, such as people fighting." The message noted the platform did not allow "text or imagery" that encouraged "violence" including hashtags, terms, and bio descriptions.
"The big tech overlords think I’m too cute to be on here," Cole wrote, adding a baby emoji to her post.
In February, Cole announced she was filing a lawsuit against medical provider Kaiser Permanente for facilitating her gender transition. The lawsuit alleges medical negligence in providing chemical and surgical interventions to facilitate Cole’s sex change between the ages of 13-16, according to the outlet.
“I was fifteen when you cut into my body, ripped out my breasts and stitched me back up like I was your rag doll,” Cole said in February during a press conference in front of Kaiser Gender Pathways Clinic in Oakland, California, suggesting the hospital is “victimizing thousands of children” with “Mengele-style experiments.”
“You are on the wrong side of history and will always be remembered as child butchers,” she continued. “Once I announced my intention to seek justice, I have not stopped receiving call after call, email after email, of parents and patients that have been harmed by these same practices, some of them even were butchered in the same building I was.”
The Center for American Liberty, along with the Dhillon Law Group and LiMandri & Jonna LLP, are representing Cole and filed a lawsuit against the Permanente Medical Group, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, and Kaiser Foundation hospitals.
“Chloe’s family sought medical treatment for her at Kaiser,” said Harmeet K. Dhillon, attorney and CEO of the Center for American Liberty. “Her physicians and other medical professionals violated the first norm of the profession, the Hippocratic Oath, when, instead of caring for her and providing medically competent diagnoses and treatment, they permanently disfigured her for profit.”
“What happened to Chloe at Kaiser should never happen to any child in America, and the Center for American Liberty is committed to protecting children like Chloe," Dhillon added.
Fellow detransitioner Soren Aldaco is also suing the medical practitioner that facilitated her gender transition. She is represented by attorney Ron Miller.
“What happened to me was preventable,” Soren told The Daily Wire. “I wanna hold my providers accountable for what they did, and I feel very strongly that ideology was prioritized over my long-term mental and physical wellbeing.”
“Doctors are human, too, and sometimes they are wrong,” Cole said before Congress in July. “My childhood was ruined – along with thousands of detransitioners that I know through our networks – this needs to stop. You alone can stop it."
She added: "Enough children have already been victimized by this barbaric pseudoscience; please let me be your final warning.”
