DeSantis Says VP Harris Is 'Complicit In A Massive Coverup' Over Biden's Health

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Vice President Kamala Harris, who is currently the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, was "complicit in a massive coverup."

For nearly a month, Biden has faced calls for his exit from the November race after his concerning debate performance against former President Donald Trump late last month.

On Sunday afternoon, Biden officially ended his candidacy for reelection and later endorsed Harris for president.

DeSantis, who previously ran in the Republican presidential primary, suggested Harris should be held responsible for defending Biden amidst concern for his ailing health.

“Kamala Harris was complicit in a massive coverup to hide and deny the fact that Joe Biden was not capable of discharging the duties of the office,” DeSantis wrote in a Sunday X post. “She also was the border czar during the worst border crisis in American history."

"Democrats are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic," DeSantis added.

On Monday, DeSantis threw criticism toward the corporate press' embrace of Harris as the presumptive Democratic nominee.

"After pushing Biden out, it was predictable that corporate media would provide hundreds of millions of dollars worth of glowing coverage to his replacement," DeSantis wrote in another post. "They are trying to do that with Kamala but it won’t work — she is too vacuous, too liberal and too unaccomplished for the voters to buy the manufactured narrative."

Also on Monday, Biden called in while Harris delivered a speech in Wilmington, Delaware.

"Embrace her. She's the best," Biden said of Harris. "I know yesterday's news was surprising and it's hard for you to hear, but it's the right thing to do."

"You're an amazing team, but ... I think we made the right decision," he added.

Biden's health was further called into question as critics noted the president's voice sounded feeble and weak during his call. Others suggested Biden's call in was generated by artificial intelligence (AI), noting Harris seemingly began to say "on the recording" rather than "on the call" when speaking with the president.

Harris is scheduled to hold her first official presidential campaign rally in Milwaukee later today.
