The Daily Wire has announced their first theatrical documentary release, Am I Racist?
The documentary, which will hit theaters on Sept. 13, follows The Daily Wire's Matt Walsh as he infiltrates anti-racism seminars, dinner parties, and sit-down interviews with supporters of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives while feigning ignorance as a DEI trainee.
Am I Racist? is a Digital Astronaut production of a Justin Folk film and is produced by Charlotte Roland, Brian Hoffman, Walsh, and Folk. Sean Hampton and Benyam Capel serve as co-producers, with Dallas Sonnier, Caleb Robinson, and the Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro and co-CEO Jeremy Boreing executive producing.
In the film, Walsh takes on the appearance of a stereotypical liberal man, which is a similar appearance Walsh donned in The Daily Wire's 2023 comedy Lady Ballers. Over a year ago I embarked on a personal journey into anti-racism and DEI. Now I can finally share it with all of you. “We want the film to reach every corner of America, not just The Daily Wire’s core audience or political conservatives, and I truly believe with a nationwide theatrical release this film has the power to be the final nail in the coffin of the DEI and the so-called ‘antiracism’ movements,” Boreing said of their latest documentary.
“What is a Woman? changed the national conversation on radical gender theory, effectively killing the issue, and DEI is the next pillar of the woke mind virus that’s about to topple,” Boreing added. “DEI culture is one of the most toxic plagues in American life and Matt Walsh and Justin Folk have masterfully and hilariously exposed it in this movie.”
Am I Racist? was announced during The Daily Wire's Backstage last night. Although Walsh said he didn't want to divulge too much information about the documentary, he said his interview with DEI author Robin DiAngelo went to a "pretty wild place."
The film is a follow up to Walsh's 2022 documentary What is a Woman?, which discussed gender theory and other dangers of medical gender transition.
