CNN Goes Dark for Over Two Minutes During Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s DNC Speech

CNN went dark for two minutes and ten seconds during Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday evening.

The chyron remained visible as the audio and visual of the convention disappeared.

“But Kamala Harris, she gets us, sees us, and is us. Look..” Whitmer said before the screen went black.

Whitmer's speech continued on other networks, where she asserted: "Look we all lived through a lot of history the last four years. Floods and fires, an attempted coup, a plot and a pandemic."

"It’s exhausting, we don’t know what the next four years will bring. But what we do know is this. Through it all your life won’t stop, you’re gonna have to get to work, pick up the kids and pay your bills," the Michigan governor continued.

"And then one day when you’re just trying to get everyone out the door a news alert goes off, something happened, something hit the fan you’ll ask ‘Is my family gonna be ok?’" Whitmer added. "Then you’ll ask ‘who the hell is in charge."

Whitmer concluded, "America, let's choose Kamala Harris."

CNN's feed did not return until the next speaker, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, was being introduced.

It remained unclear what caused the blackout by early Friday morning.
