Charlamagne tha God lamented the strategy of labeling Republicans as a "threat to democracy" and suggested Democrats were the "party who cried wolf."
Charlamagne, an outspoken liberal, took aim at Democrats during a Sunday appearance on ABC News' This Week with host Jonathan Karl.
The radio host also threw criticism towards Republicans, though lamented Democrats' frequently invoked strategy of referring to their political rivals as a threat to democracy.
"You can't keep saying that there's a 'threat to democracy,' [and] 'democracy as we know it is gonna be gone,' but not act like it," Charlamagne told Karl. "They've always done this with every single Republican candidate."
Charlamagne, 45, noted Democrats had "demonized" every Republican presidential candidate throughout his life.
"It doesn't matter if its John McCain, doesn't matter if it was Mitt Romney. Doesn't matter who it is, they will demonize the Republican candidate," he added.
"Now that there's an actual legitimate threat right there in our faces, they're like the party who cried wolf. Nobody believes them," Charlamagne said.
Although Charlamagne appeared sympathetic to Republicans, the radio host insisted "the crooks are the Republicans."
Charlamagne also threw criticism towards President Joe Biden and referred to him as "an uninspiring candidate."
"There’s nothing about Joe Biden that makes you want to listen to him," Charlamagne said. "That’s why he should be leaning on his vice president, Kamala Harris, who is way more charismatic than him."
The radio host also suggested Biden should lean on other prominent Democrats including California Gov. Gavin Newsom or Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and insisted Biden should be the "brains of the operation behind the scenes."
"He has no main character energy at all. None," he added.
Charlamagne disagreed when Karl asked if Biden's age played into his negative perception.
"I don’t think it has anything to do with age, I think it has just everything to do with him," he said. "Like Donald Trump is four years, three years younger than President Biden. But he just comes off a lot more youthful. He comes off, you know, like he has a lot more energy."
"I always say this about him. Donald Trump seems more sincere about his lies than Joe Biden does about his truth," Charlamagne said.
In January, Charlamagne said he regretted backing Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2020 presidential election. The radio host said since entering office, Harris had "disappeared."
“When I give people my word like: ‘Yo man, I think we should be supporting Kamala Harris for vice president … because she’s going to hold it down,'” he said. “When we say those things and people don’t see her holding it down, that causes issues.”
Biden infamously told the radio host, "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black," during an October 2020 interview on Charlamagne's radio program, The Breakfast Club.
