Biden Tells Elmo He Knows How Hard It Is To 'Sweep The Clouds Away And Get To Sunnier Days'

President Joe Biden responded to an X post by long-running Sesame Street character, Elmo.

The interaction began after the Sesame Street character shared a post to the platform checking in and asking users how they were doing.

"Wow! Elmo is glad he asked!" the Sesame Street character wrote, acknowledging the responses across X. "Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing. Elmo will check in again stoon, friends! Elmo loves you."

Biden responded to the Sesame Street character, saying he knew how hard it was to "sweep the clouds away and get to sunnier days."

"Our friend Elmo is right: We have to be there for each other, offer our help to a neighbor in need, and above all else, ask for help when we need it," Biden responded. "Even though it's hard, you're never alone."

Biden's response drew criticism and ire amid ongoing domestic and global conflict.

"Bro we lost three service members in a terrorist attack and the president is tweeting about sesame street," one X user wrote in reference to the death of three United States soldiers killed in the middle east last weekend.

"Biden still hasn’t punished Iran for killing three American soldiers," another user similarly wrote. "Instead he’s tweeting about Elmo."

"Country wrapped in another foreign broader conflict with Iran, who backed proxies murdering U.S. troops," wrote contributing editor for The Spectator Stephen L. Miller. "Current President - 'What the puppet said.'"

In another post, Miller said Biden's response to the Sesame Street character was "worse" than anything former President Donald Trump ever posted on the platform.

"I feel so much better now," wrote author and The Daily Wire podcaster Andrew Klavan.

Along with foreign conflict, the nation may be facing a constitutional crisis regarding Texas' southern border as the Lone Star state Gov. Greg Abbott has asserted Texas' right to defend its own borders, while the Biden administration is fresh off the heels of a recent victory with the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), which ruled in favor of the federal government's ability to cut or remove sections of razor wire from Texas' border.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz warned of a potential constitutional crisis in the event Biden sought to federalize the Texas national guard as Abbott is in defiance of SCOTUS' ruling.

On Friday, Abbott said Texas was "prepared" for a potential conflict with the federal government in an interview with Tucker Carlson.

"We are prepared ... to make sure that we will be able to continue exactly what we've been doing over the past month," he said of Texas' deployment of razor wire or other efforts to curb illegal border crossings.

Abbott also noted other states had sent troops to Texas to assist with the border crisis.

"There have been about ten so far that have sent national guard or other law enforcement," Abbott said. "This is a fight for the future of America, and they all know it."
