Joy Behar Blames Obama For Creating Trump

The View co-host Joy Behar blamed former President Barack Obama for former President Donald Trump's presidency.

Behar noted the former president's infamous appearance at the 2011 White House Correspondent's Dinner in which Obama threw a series of jabs at Trump.

The View co-host made her comment during a Tuesday broadcast of the program.

"He is one of the most dangerous people of my lifetime to ever be in the Oval Office," Behar said of Trump and claimed he didn't have a good sense of humor in reference to the 2011 White House Correspondent's Dinner.

"His skin is thinner than his hair," she said. "He got so pissed off that he had to run for president and go after poor Obama, who was born in this country."

Behar said Trump was a "menace."

Fellow co-host Sara Haines said hate and fear was divisive and "pits people against each other." Conversely, Haines said comedy was "uniting."

"Comedy is always where I go when things are the scariest in life," she said. "You need someone to keep us laughing about—" Haines continued, though broke into laughter after fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg made a comical face at her.

Behar agreed with Haines and said Trump "doesn't take it."

"Charlie Chaplin made fun of Hitler in 1940," Behar said of the silent film pioneer's 1940 film, The Great Dictator. "By 1945, millions and millions of people were dead."

Behar claimed Trump might "annihilate the whole world" if someone joked about him.

During the 2011 White House Correspondent's Dinner, then-President Obama joked about Trump's effort to release his official birth certificate after claiming Obama was not born in the United States.

"No one is happier, no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than the Donald," Obama said. "And that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter – like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?"

President Obama then transitioned to Trump's long-running reality television series The Apprentice. All kidding aside, obviously, we all know about your credentials and breadth of experience," Obama said. "For example — no, seriously, just recently, in an episode of Celebrity Apprentice, at the steakhouse, the men’s cooking team's cooking did not impress the judges from Omaha Steaks.  And there was a lot of blame to go around.  But you, Mr. Trump, recognized that the real problem was a lack of leadership."

Obama said Trump didn't blame rapper Lil' John or rock artist Meat Loaf in the celebrity rendition of his program.

"You fired Gary Busey," Obama said. "These are the kind of decisions that would keep me up at night. Well handled, sir."

Obama noted Trump was considering a presidential run at the time and said the then-reality television star would "bring some change" to the White House. As Obama delivered his remark, a photoshopped image of the White House resembling a casino with Trump's name on the front appeared on screen behind him.
