'We Want Trump!': Trump Draws Standing Ovation at UFC 302

Off the heels of his latest guilty verdict, former President Donald Trump received a massive standing ovation at UFC 302 in New Jersey.

Last Thursday, Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records in a Manhattan court, making him the first United States president to be the subject of a criminal trial.

On Saturday, Trump, who frequently attends UFC fights, was met with a thunderous applause while entering the Prudential Center with UFC President and CEO Dana White.

“The round of applause he’s getting right now is pretty staggering,” said UFC commentator Joe Rogan as Trump shook hands with members of the audience.

“You had to imagine that’s what was gonna happen,” he added in reference to Trump’s guilty verdict late last week.

Chants of "We want Trump" could be heard during the event.

Other footage from the event shows the former president flanked by athletes and celebrities, including New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and comedian Theo Von. Some members of the crowd also displayed "TRUMP 2024" flags.

After snapping his opponent Michael Oleksiejczuk's arm during a submission, fighter Kevin Holland approached the former president, who sat ringside, and shook his hand.

“I just apologized because the first time I hopped out of the cage when he was there I didn’t speak to him,” Holland reportedly said.

Co-main event fighter Sean Strickland praised the former president after winning his fight against Paulo Costa.

"President Trump, you're the man, bro," Strickland told Trump as Rogan conducted his post-fight interview. "It is a damn travesty what they are doing to you. I’ll be donating to you, my man. Let’s get it done."

“This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt,” Trump said shortly after his verdict. “It’s a rigged trial, a disgrace. They wouldn’t give us a venue change. We were at 5% or 6% in this district, in this area. This was a rigged, disgraceful trial."

"The real verdict is going to be November 5 by the people," he added. "And they know what happened here. And everybody knows what happened here.”

Trump also referred to himself as a "POLITICAL PRISONER OF A FAILING NATION."

“After sitting for five weeks through that Rigged Trial in Lower Manhattan, which was surrounded by vast but unnecessary numbers of New York’s Finest in order to keep law abiding MAGA patriots away, and as I watched insignificant numbers of fully funded Radical Left troublemakers, with brand new and gleaming professionally made signs, screaming and cursing from areas said to be closed to us, and all others, I realized that Reason, Truth, and Love of our Country is no longer a force of Good and Change. These are Dark Days in America!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump's sentencing has been scheduled for July 11 — the week before the Republican National Convention begins in Milwaukee. All motions must reportedly be filed by June 13.
