Former President Donald Trump questioned why he should participate in a proposed ABC News debate with Vice President Kamala Harris
Trump was originally scheduled to debate Biden a second time in a September debate hosted by ABC News, though the debate was scrapped after Biden bowed out of the race. In late July, Fox News offered to host a Sept. 4 debate between Trump and Harris in Pennsylvania.
Although Harris’ campaign alleged Trump had backed out of the originally scheduled debate with Biden, Trump noted the agreement was between himself and Biden. Trump later agreed to a Sept. 4 debate with Harris on Fox News along with two other debates on Sept. 10 with NBC News and Sept. 25 with ABC News.
Last Monday, Trump took to Truth Social to announce Harris had informed his campaign that she would not participate in the Fox News debate. Trump went on to announce he would join Fox News' Sean Hannity for a Tele-Town Hall in lieu of his debate with Harris.
Over the weekend, Trump questioned why he should participate in the proposed ABC News debate, which Harris has yet to agree to as of Monday.

"Will panelist Donna Brazil give the questions to the Marxist Candidate like she did for Crooked Hillary Clinton? Will Kamala’s best friend, who heads up ABC, do likewise. This morning, Trump claimed Harris and her campaign were attempting to amend ABC News' rules before formally agreeing to debate Trump.

"Kamala refuses to do Interviews, because she has NO CONFIDENCE in her own level of 'Intelligence,' and now wants to change the Rules of the Debate on ABC Fake News!" Trump added.
Republican and Democratic vice-presidential nominees, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have formally agreed to debate on Oct. 1 with CBS News. Vance has further challenged Walz to a second debate on Sept. 18 with CNN.
