Trump Announces 2024 Policy To End 'Birth Tourism'

'We Will Secure Out Borders ... We Will Restore Our Sovereignty Starting On Day One’

Trump Announces 2024 Policy To End 'Birth Tourism'

Former president Donald Trump said he would sign an executive order ending birthright citizenship if re-elected.

Trump released a new video as part of his Agenda 47 re-election campaign proposals.

He referred to the unprecedented illegal immigration at the country's southern border as a foreign invasion.

"Even though these millions of illegal border crossers have entered the country unlawfully, all of their future children will be automatic U.S. citizens," the former president noted, referencing Section 1, Clause 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment regarding birthright citizenship.

The former president cited children of illegal immigrants benefiting from welfare, taxpayer funded healthcare, the right to vote, and chain migration among other benefits of United States citizenship.

He further noted the policies benefit illegal alien parents of children born in the United States.

"This policy is a reward for breaking the laws of the United States," he continued, referring to the policy as a "magnet" attracting illegal immigration.

"The United States is among the only countries in the world that says that even if either parent is a lawful citizen or even lawfully in the country, your future children are automatic citizens the moment the parents trespass onto our soil," he continued. "This current policy is based on a historical myth and a willful misinterpretation of the law by the open borders advocates."

Trump mentioned foreign "prisoners" and "very sick" people coming into the country by the tens of thousands.

"As part of my plan to secure the border — on day one of my new term in office — I will sign an executive order making clear to federal agencies that under the correct interpretation of the law, going forward, the future children of illegal aliens will not receive automatic U.S. citizenship," he announced.

Trump suggested his policy will "choke off" incentivizing illegal immigrants to give birth in the United States, deter more migration, and encourage illegal aliens currently in the country to return to their home countries.

The former president referred to the birthright incentive as morally wrong and further suggested the practice of "birth tourism” is an "illegitimate" and "illegal" manner of obtaining citizenship for children of foreigners.

"At least one parent will have to be a citizen or a legal resident in order to qualify," Trump said. “We will secure our borders, and we will restore our sovereignty starting on day one."

"Our country will be great again. Our country will be a country again," he continued. "We will have borders, we'll have proper education, and we'll put America first."
