Transgender Person Charged With Indecent Exposure for Getting Naked in Front of Young Girls in YMCA Locker Room

A biological male that self-identifies as a woman has been charged with indecent exposure for getting naked in front of young girls in an Ohio YMCA locker room on multiple occasions.

Darren Glines, 31, who uses the name "Rachel," has been charged with three counts of indecent exposure for the incidents in 2021 and 2022.

Glines had not undergone gender change surgery and was walking around with their penis exposed in the locker room at the Xenia YMCA, even when minors were present.

Local station WHIO reports that the complaints stem from at least three instances when people “reported seeing a naked male in the female’s locker room.” One of the complaints states that three juveniles were present.

The station reports that the president of the Xenia City Council, Williams Urshcel, recounted one of the complaints during a recent legal discussion at a Greene County Tea Party meeting.

“So she went to the front desk and said, ‘Hey, I don’t know if you know what’s going on, but there’s a naked man in there,’” Urshcel said. “She was informed, ‘No this is actually a woman, and that you shouldn’t be disturbed by this.’”

A spokesperson for the City of Xenia said in a statement provided to Fox News that Urschel's comments "were his own and were not authorized by or on the behalf of the rest of City Council, the Mayor, the City Manager or the Law Director."

"The proper administration of the criminal justice process is a preeminent priority for the City of Xenia and its departments and divisions," the statement said. "Moreover, it is not the policy or practice of the Xenia Law Department to allow internal or external political actors to participate in criminal charging decisions."

"Neither the Xenia City Council, nor any member of the Council, had any part in the decision to file public indecency charges regarding the use of the YMCA’s locker rooms," the statement continued.

The YMCA claimed that its locker room policy aligns with the standards set by the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.

“Under no circumstance will we investigate an individual’s birth identity and then assign individuals to locker rooms. That would be counter to the law, counter to respect for all people, and it is not who or what we are as an organization,” a statement from YMCA of Greater Dayton read.

The reports state that no charges are being planned against the YMCA.

Glines is scheduled to appear in court next week.
