'The View' Hosts Celebrate DeSantis Dropping Out, Claim Sexism Over Trump Endorsement

The View co-host Ana Navarro said she cheered after learning Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had suspended his presidential campaign.

DeSantis announced the suspension of his presidential campaign on Sunday afternoon and threw his support behind Trump's re-election bid.

Navarro displayed her initial reaction to DeSantis' campaign suspension by cheering for fellow hosts and the live audience.

"Then I calmed down," Navarro said. "He was doomed from the start."

The View host said DeSantis was "the most overblown candidate" in her lifetime.

"He won in Florida by 20 points, but he won because he really used every weapon of the incumbency to give himself an advantage," she said.

Navarro claimed DeSantis "suppressed" black voters in Florida and "changed voting laws" in the state.

Navarro also noted Democratic challenger and former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist was "the worst Democrat nominee in [her] lifetime."

"My dog could have beaten Charlie Crist," she added.

Fellow co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin claimed DeSantis' endorsement of Trump over fellow GOP candidate Nikki Haley was evidence of sexism amongst other former Republican presidential candidates who have not thrown support behind her.

"Ron DeSantis actually intellectually knows Nikki Haley is more qualified and more fit to be the nominee," Griffin said. "He knows Donald Trump is not better than her."

Griffin also turned her criticism towards former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie who suspended his presidential campaign earlier this month, though did not endorse any of his fellow Republican candidates.

"It feels like the boys can't handle losing to women," Griffin said.

Trump responded to DeSantis' endorsement by indicating the politicians may work together leading up to November's election.

DeSantis, who initially launched his presidential campaign last May as a "great American comeback," announced the suspension of his presidential campaign and endorsed Trump for re-election in a Sunday video shared to X.

“I am proud to have delivered on 100% of my promises and I will not stop now,” he continued. “It is clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance. They watched his presidency get stymied by relentless resistance and they see Democrats using lawfare to this day to attack him.”

DeSantis said Trump was "superior" to President Joe Biden.

“He has my endorsement because we can’t go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear,” said the governor. He added that Nikki Haley represents “a repackaged form of warmed-over corporatism.”

Trump's team said the former President was "honored" to have DeSantis' endorsement.

"I look forward to working together with him to beat Joe Biden, who is the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country," Trump added, per his campaign.

Trump currently holds a commanding 54.6-point advantage over Haley, according to RealClearPolitics.
