SUV in Biden’s Motorcade Stuck by Vehicle During Delaware Event

A car crashed into a parked SUV that was part of President Joe Biden's motorcade in Wilmington, Delaware, on Sunday night.

President Biden and the First Lady were not harmed in the crash.

The Biden's had just left a reception at his campaign headquarters shortly after 8 p.m. when the incident occurred.

Biden was on the sidewalk answering a question from a reporter about how former President Donald Trump is beating him in the polls. Jill Biden had already entered their vehicle.

Suddenly, a sedan with Delaware license plates struck the SUV that was parked across the street from the event.

The president was promptly whisked into a vehicle by U.S. Secret Service agents.

Other agents surrounded the sedan with their guns drawn and aimed at the driver, who had his hands up, according to a report from NBC News.

Special Agent Steve Kopek, a Secret Service spokesperson, told the outlet, "There was no protective interest associated with this event and the President’s motorcade departed without incident."

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.

The Bidens were safely returned to their Wilmington residence.
