Adult film actress Stormy Daniels said she "looks forward" to testifying against former president Donald Trump amidst his Tuesday arraignment in Manhattan, New York.
During an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, host Piers Morgan noted the adult film actress may be asked to testify before a grand jury in Trump's case to which Daniels expressed interest.
“It’s daunting, but I look forward to it,” Daniels told Morgan. “I have nothing to hide. I’m the only one that has been telling the truth, and you can’t shame me any more.”
"I feel like if they don't that paints the picture they know something about me that makes me untrustworthy or not reliable."
“So you want to have them [ask you to testify],” Morgan pressed, to which Daniels agreed.
“Having them call me in and put me on the stand legitimizes my story and who I am, and if they don’t, it almost feels like they’re hiding me," Daniels said, adding that she believes Trump deserves jail time, but not for “his crimes against me.”
“I feel like the other things that he has done, if he is found guilty, absolutely,” Daniels said of Trump serving time in jail. “If he doesn’t, it opens the door for other people to think they can get away with that, and worse.”
Trump was arrested and arraigned in a Manhattan court room Tuesday afternoon regarding an alleged "hush money" settlement with Daniels in 2016 during the former president's campaign. According to the claim, Daniels and Trump had a sexual encounter in 2006 leading to the "hush money" payment a decade later.
Michael Cohen, the prosecution’s star witness, reportedly paid Daniels $130,0000 during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and was subsequently sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to charges regarding the payment in 2018. Cohen was subsequently sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to charges regarding the payment in 2018.
Critics contest Trump and his associated organizations sought to cover up Daniels’ payment and suggest Trump’s company’s internal records “falsely” identify the reimbursements as legal expenses.
Following Trump's Tuesday arrest and arraignment in Manhattan, the former president delivered remarks and commented on the judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over the pending case, from his home at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
“This is where we are right now,” the former president said. “I have a Trump-hating judge with a Trump-hating wife and a Trump-hating family whose daughter worked for Kamala Harris, and now receives money from the Biden-Harris campaign.”
A leaked private message from Daniels reportedly revealed the adult film actress denied the sexual encounter allegation, according to a Las Vegas news outlet.
“Oh f— off. I NEVER had sex with him,” the woman who appears to be Stormy Daniels reportedly said in the private Facebook message. “I had a business conversation (not related to sex at all) but that I’m not at liberty to discuss.”
The story originally ran in March, but has resurfaced in the wake of the historic indictment of Trump in connection with the payment allegedly made to Daniels.
Trump is the first former president to face criminal charges after office.
