Sen. JD Vance: 'The Biden Administration Wants Trump to Die in Jail'

Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance blasted the Biden administration on Monday, claiming that they want former President Donald Trump to "die in jail."

Vance's comments came shortly after an appeals court ruled that Trump has ten days to post $175 million in order to pause enforcement of the $464 million judgment related to his New York civil fraud case.

"The Biden administration wants Trump to die in jail and they want to bankrupt his family," Vance, a staunch Trump ally, wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "It is the biggest assault on democracy we've ever seen. If you're too cowardly to call it out, you're not ready for this moment in American politics."

The viral post was viewed over one million times in 24 hours.

New York Attorney General Letitia James had been preparing to seize Trump's assets before the appeals court decision.

Trump is fighting four cases in Florida, Georgia, New York, and Washington. In total, he has been charged with a shocking 88 felonies across all cases.

The alleged crimes range from mishandling classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida to allegedly attempting to change the election results in Georgia and paying supposed "hush money" in New York.

Rep. Byron Donalds also blasted the seizure attempt in a post on X.

Donalds wrote, "The egregious attempted seizure of President Trump's assets for a victimless 'crime' will forever taint the legal system of New York and sets a dangerous new precedent for our nation."

"Weaponizing justice to forcibly seize the livelihood of political opposition is shocking, tyrannical, and profoundly un-American," Donalds continued.
