Rollerblade wheels "infused" with cocaine were discovered inside an intercepted package being sent from Colombia to Wisconsin.
The discovery led to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducting a joint raid at a home in Kenosha on Friday.
"This package contained a set of Canariam Rollerblades," the sheriff's department said in a press release. "With the assistance of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the wheels of the rollerblades were identified as suspicious. The package was intercepted as a result, and a series of tests were conducted on the wheels. It was then discovered the wheels were infused with a gelatin-like substance that tested positive for the presence of cocaine."
The sheriff's department obtained a warrant for the package's “controlled delivery” to the address in Kenosha with the help of HSI.
During the raid, authorities seized over $38,000 worth of narcotics and forged papers.
The raid uncovered 1048 grams of cocaine, with an approximate street value of $35,000, money transfer documents from Kenosha to Bogota totalling over $30,000, forged documents including false permanent resident alien cards, and $3,475 in cash.
