Digital marketplace PublicSq sent an open letter offering to assist former Bud Light employees find new employment following parent company Anheuser-Busch's Wednesday decision to lay off 350 employees.
PublicSq is a marketplace which aggregates over 55,000 Constitutional values-aligned businesses that are "Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Pro-Freedom," according to its website.
"Bud Light parent company Anheuser-Busch announced yesterday that they are laying off 350 employees," PublicSq CEO and founder Michael Seifert wrote Thursday. "Losing a job is never easy and it's unfortunate their company decided to prioritize woke ideology over doing what was best for the brand. So we want to help."
"If any laid off Bud Light employee reaches out to PublicSQ or RedBalloon, we will help you find a new job in our network of non-woke businesses. Here is our open letter."
The letter opened by apologizing to recently laid-off Anheuser-Busch employees noting their former employer "prioritized left-wing ideology over sound business practices," referencing Bud Light's decision to sponsor transgender activist and TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The letter also said it was "unfortunate" that Anheuser-Busch CEO Brandon Whitworth was still collecting a "massive annual salary," further criticizing the CEO for not facing consequences for his actions.
"You are the ones that suffer for Bud Light's disastrous decision."
"People like to say 'go woke, go broke' and in reality, the economic consequences rarely fall on the wealthy liberals that make the woke decisions," the letter continued. "Losing a job is always a challenging moment in one's life and we at PublicSq and RedBalloon would like to help you get through it."
The letter encouraged recently laid off Bud Light employees to submit resumes to [email protected] where PublicSq and RedBalloon would distribute resumes to respective networks of tens of thousands of pro-America businesses.
"We started our businesses to help people like you," the letter continues. "The growing progressive politicization of our economy hurts Americans in so many different ways and it's time we take a stand against it."
Similar to PublicSq, RedBalloon brands itself as "America's largest and most successful non-woke job board and talent connector. RedBalloon is the marketplace's answer to the divisive and toxic 'cancel culture' invading the American workplace."
Anheuser-Bush, who employs roughly 18,000 people in the United States, recently announced a 2% reduction in workforce following months of lost sales stemming from their sponsorship of Mulvaney.
Speaking to The Hill, a spokesperson for Anheuser-Busch said they are changing its corporate structure to “simplify and reduce layers,” and that the changes will be “across every corporate function at Anheuser-Busch.”
“While we never take these decisions lightly, we want to ensure that our organization continues to be set for future long-term success,” Anheuser-Busch Chief Executive Brendan Whitworth said in a written statement obtained by the Wall Street Journal. “These corporate structure changes will enable our teams to focus on what we do best—brewing great beer for everyone.”
