Protestors Chant ‘Genocide Joe’ Outside of Capitol Before Biden’s State of the Union

A group of pro-Palestinian protestors attempted to block President Joe Biden's motorcade while en route to deliver tonight's State of the Union (SOTU) address.

Protestors wearing shirts reading, "BIDEN'S LEGACY = GENOCIDE" began blocking Pennsylvania Avenue, down the street from the nation's Capitol, shortly after 7 p.m. EST.

"Not another nickel, not another dime. No more money for Israel's crimes," they chanted as some marched down the road while others sat in an attempt to block traffic.

Others held signs similarly asserting Biden's legacy was genocide.

"They have shut down Pennsylvania Avenue, this major road, what they believe could be the motorcade for President Biden as he makes his way from the White House to the Capitol for the State of the Union speech," one CNN reporter on the scene said. "Now, of course they know it is unlikely they would actually stop the motorcade."

The CNN reporter said demonstrators appeared aware they would be unable to completely block traffic through Pennsylvania Avenue and instead viewed their protest as "symbolic."

One protestor speaking to the crowd said, "Corporations get to have more rights than us and the people in Gaze."

"Shame!" the woman repeatedly shouted as the crowd cheered. "Criminal!"

Other demonstrators led the crowd in chanting "Genocide Joe."

Earlier today, fencing was erected around the White House in an apparent attempt to prepare for protests possibly becoming violent.

The SOTU is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. EST.
