Over Half of Likely Voters Believe Cheating Will Happen in 2024 Election

A majority of likely voters believe that cheating is likely to occur in the 2024 presidential election.

A recent Rasmussen Reports survey found that voters also see mail-in voting as part of the problem.

The poll asked, “How likely is it that the outcome of the 2024 presidential election will be affected by cheating?”

The pollsters found that 56 percent of likely voters believe cheating is likely to affect the outcome of the next presidential election — and 31 percent of them believe that it is "very likely."

Women were more likely than men to believe that cheating is "likely," 58 percent to 54 percent.

When it comes to political affiliation, the majority of independents (55 percent) and Republicans (73 percent) believe cheating will influence the election. Just 40 percent of Democrats said the same.

The survey, conducted from November 13-15, found that many Americans would like to see changes including single-day voting, voter identification, paper ballots, and hand-tabulated results within 24 hours to help restore confidence in election results.

When it comes to mail in ballots, 51 percent believe that they make cheating easier.

A poll conducted by CNN in July found that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents view President Joe Biden's win as illegitimate. The number was an increase from earlier this year, when only 63 percent said that they believe the same.

"Overall, 61% of Americans say Biden did legitimately win enough votes to win the presidency, and 38% believe that he did not. Among registered voters who say they cast a ballot for Trump in 2020, 75% say they have doubts about Biden’s legitimacy," CNN reported at the time.

CNN additionally found that half of Americans across party lines believe "that it is at least somewhat likely that elected officials will successfully overturn the results of a US election if their party does not win."
