A North Carolina waitress says that she was fired from her job for posting a video of a man dining with a blow-up doll on her TikTok.
Tara Bjork was working at the Restoration Hardware Rooftop Restaurant in Charlotte on May 27 when the unusual lunch guests came in.
“Ok, I’m not supposed to be making TikToks at work, but this calls for it,” Bjork said in the video.
"I work at a nice restaurant in Charlotte, and I need you guys to see what just came in the door," Bjork added before zooming in on the man and his sex doll.
The doll was wearing a black slip dress and being hand-fed what appeared to be grapes by the male diner.
The TikTok was viewed over a million times and caught the attention of the lunch guest, who claimed it was done as punishment because he lost a Fantasy Football bet. He also posted his own video of the inflatable date.
Despite being all fun and games, Bjork told the Charlotte Observer that she was fired over the video.
Bjork said she “knew one of two things was going to happen” when she posted the video, “it would get no views and I would be fine or, it would blow up and I would be fired.” The server added that she “was ready for new opportunities, so it wasn’t too much of a shock, thank goodness. Sort of shocked at HOW viral it went though! My friends parents were telling me they’ve seen it.”
SCNR reached out to Restoration Hardware's Rooftop Restaurant and the diner for comment, but neither had replied at time of publishing.
