Nicole Shanahan Says Democrats 'Obstructed A Fair Election'

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, said the Democratic Party had "obstructed" their chances at a fair election and said she "fully supports" Kennedy working with former President Donald Trump's future administration.

On Tuesday, Shanahan, a former Democrat, made waves online after she proposed working with the Trump campaign to prevent a Kamala Harris presidency.

"There's two options that we're looking at," Shanahan said during an appearance on Impact Theory. "One is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and [Tim] Walz presidency, because we draw votes from Trump or we draw somehow more votes from Trump."

"Or, we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump. We walk away from that and we explain to our base why we're making this decision," she said.

Shanahan further discussed dropping out of the race and joining Trump's team during a Tuesday night appearance on Fox News with host Trace Gallagher.

"It’s Bobby’s decision," she said. "I came into this supporting him wholeheartedly to win this election. I have to say there’s only one party that has obstructed a fair election for us, and unfortunately it was the Democratic Party."

"They’ve done everything they can, including creating PACs to prevent us from being able to have ballot access," Shanahan added.

When asked to clarify what she meant by joining forces with Trump, Shanahan discussed creating a Unity Party focused on fighting for liberty and addressing issues with health care in the country.

"We are willing to work with anyone who is sincere in their endeavor to fix and address this issue," she said, reiterating she would "fully support" a partnership with the Trump administration and said she believed the former president was "sincere."

Shanahan said it was currently a "tight race" between Trump and Harris when asked how Kennedy's exit from the race would impact the November election.

"I wish that we had had a chance to debate. I wish that we had fair representation in the polls. I wish we had a chance to be on stage because had we, we likely would have won this election," Shanahan said. "To even be contemplating this, it’s tough. It’s a really hard decision, and we don’t come to this moment lightly."

"We come to this moment because in every single decision we make, first and foremost we want to make sure we are representing the best interests of health and wellness, of young people, of future generations," she concluded.

As of Wednesday, Kennedy himself has not addressed the possibility of ending his campaign to join forces with Trump.
