Fresh off the heels of his band's farewell tour, Kiss frontman Paul Stanley lamented those who haven't performed "credible fact based research" from feeling "entitled" to their opinion.
Stanley rang in the new year with his statement in a Monday X post.
"At what cost to this world?" Stanley asked. "If you haven't done your own credible fact based research or parrot what you've heard or been told, YOU are part of the problem and the damage it causes."
The Kiss frontman said "we all deserve more from each other."
Stanley's remark followed a Sunday afternoon post in which the rock star shared a meme with a quote from Belgian comedian Philippe Geluck reading: "When you're dead, you don't know you're dead. The pain is felt by others."
Geluck's quote concluded, "The same thing happens when you're stupid."
"BEFORE you post or respond to any posts in the coming year, try to remember..." Stanley captioned his post.
Stanley's remarks appear to contradict a series of previous social media posts made by the Kiss frontman.
In August 2022, Stanley similarly criticized "both sides" of legacy media for biased reporting.
"WANT TO HAVE A MORE UNIFIED COUNTRY? Have a more unified news!" Stanley wrote in his X post, then Twitter, featuring logos from Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. "Not poisonous bickering and slanted distortions on BOTH sides."
"How can we form educated points of view when we're not getting the unbiased truth?" he continued. "We don't need networks pushing opinions. We need ACCURACY. We need FACTS."
In January 2020, the Kiss frontman also lamented legacy media and "24 hour 'news' channels, which Stanley referred to as "skewed" and "biased" in a Facebook post.
"Any point of view can be backed up with some sort of documentation and 'expert' analysis and that is the key problem," Stanley wrote. "NEWS?!? No. We are watching slick entertainment channels pushing their own agenda and a reality which then becomes yours."
In 2018, Stanley came out against former President Trump's insistence on the dangers of media.
"JOURNALISTS And The Media Are NOT The Enemy Of The People," Stanley wrote in a July Twitter post. "Without the opportunity to hear all points of view we can't find the truth."
“Those who want to silence opposition and questions or turn the public against them ARE The Enemy Of The People And Of Freedom," he added.
In a follow-up post, Stanley said "all" media coverage was "clearly biased."
"We should accept that EVERYONE is participating and NOBODY is innocent," Stanley wrote. "THAT is all the more reason we need to hear it all."
