Jayson Boebert: 'I Am Asking For You All To Show Grace And Mercy Towards Lauren In This Troubling Season'

Lauren Boebert's Ex-Husband Blames Himself For Congresswoman's Public Sexual Conduct

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert's ex-husband issued a statement of defense following viral footage of the Colorado representative appearing to be groped by a man in a theatre over the weekend.

In a Facebook post, ex-husband Jayson said he was partly to blame for the congresswoman's behavior during a Beetlejuice musical in Denver last week.

Boebert praised his ex-wife as an "exceptional wife, mother and now grandmother."

"She has provided me with love, support, and honored me through every misstep," he said of the congresswoman. "Throughout our 20 years together, she has been my rock, my confidant, and my best friend."

The Colorado representative's ex-husband further praised her "unwavering commitment" to their family, adding he was "devastated" by the pain he caused her.

"I take full responsibility for my actions, and I deeply regret the choices I made that led to the breakdown of our marriage," he said, adding he was "unfaithful to Lauren in so many ways."

"I should have always brought my best just as she did," he continued. "My actions were selfish and thoughtless, and I failed to consider the consequences they would ultimately have on the person I hold dearest in my heart."

Ex-husband Jayson said he holds "all responsibility" for the couple's divorce and denied allegations that the congresswoman left him over "fame," adding he was the "root" of their problems.

"The hurt I caused Lauren was not only significant but also something she carried within her, burying it deep inside, while continuing to love people and our country fearlessly with a smile each day," he said, noting he had embarked on a "journey of self-reflection and personal growth" following their separation. "I have come to understand the importance of honesty and loyalty, and I am committed to becoming a better man, one who can fully appreciate and reciprocate the love and kindness that has been demonstrated to me."

Boebert addressed his ex-wife directly, saying he was dedicated to doing everything in his power to "rebuild the trust that has been shattered."

"I stand behind you. You are the hardest working person I know, selfless and overflowing with love," he said of the congresswoman. "I hate the attacks that are coming your way ... this is my fault and you don't deserve this."

Boebert concluded by asking readers to show the congresswoman "grace and mercy."

"She deserves a chance to earn your forgiveness and regain trust," he wrote. "I have broke her down in so many ways, but she will come out stronger as she always does, and so will I."

Footage of Boebert at a Denver showing of Beetlejuice features the congresswoman appearing to be groped by a man later identified as Quinn Gallagher. In response, Boebert appears to grab Gallagher's thigh before the two are escorted out of the theatre.

Aside from engaging in sexual conduct in a public setting, Boebert was also slammed for dating Gallagher — a registered Democrat who co-owns The Hooch Craft Coctail Bar in Aspen, Colorado, which has previously hosted drag shows.

In an interview shared by TMZ, Congresswoman Boebert said she has "learned to check party affiliations" before going on a date.
