Jordan Peterson Plans To Broadcast Ontario College of Psychologists' Social Media Training

'If You Think You Have A Right To Free Speech In Canada, You're Delusional'

Jordan Peterson Plans To Broadcast Ontario College of Psychologists' Social Media Training

Clinical psychologist Dr. Jordan B. Peterson said he will make his mandatory social media training by the Ontario College of Psychologists (CPO) "100% transparent."

Dr. Peterson also expressed interest in broadcasting his training publicly.

"Somehow, everything that happens is going to be made public," the clinical psychologist told Fox News' Jesse Watters during a Wednesday appearance on the network, adding it was "absolutely necessary."

Peterson said he's perfectly willing to state his social media posts are his own opinions in his professional capacity.

"I'm not the least bit happy about what the sadistic surgeon butchers are doing to minors," Dr. Peterson said of medical practitioners assisting minors in sex changes. "I'm also not very happy about narcissistic celebrities ... parading off their new surgically enhanced body and enticing young women, for example, into being sterilized and butchered."

The clinical psychologist said he had an "obligation" as a professional, along with other therapists and physicians, to say medical gender transitions for minors were "100% absolutely not acceptable."

Dr. Peterson said Canada is experiencing an "unraveling" of the principles upon which Canada and the United States were predicated, referring to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the "poster boy for political correctness."

In late August, the Ontario Court of Appeal ruled in favor of the CPO suspending Dr. Peterson's medical license regarding his social media posts.

"If you think you have a right to free speech in Canada, you're delusional," Peterson wrote in a X post. "I will make every aspect of this public and we will see what happens when utter transparency is the rule."

"Bring it on."

“Dr. Peterson sees himself functioning as a clinical psychologist ‘in the broad public space’ where he claims to be helping ‘millions of people,'” wrote Canadian Justice Paul Schabas of CPO's order. “Peterson cannot have it both ways: he cannot speak as a member of a regulated profession without taking responsibility for the risk of harm that flows from him speaking in that trusted capacity.”

The CPO commented on their mandate for Peterson to undergo social media training.

“The College of Psychologists of Ontario is committed to carrying out its mandate of protecting the public interest by regulating the practice of psychology and upholding the Standards of Professional Conduct."

LGBTQ+ advocacy group Egale Canada also commented on Dr. Peterson's social media training, praising the court's decision.

“The Court reaffirmed that freedom of expression does not insulate health professionals from accountability for discriminatory and anti-trans speech,” the organization’s lawyers wrote in a statement.
