Internal Pfizer Letter Warns Employees Of Revealing 'Sensitive,' 'Confidential' Information

An internal Pfizer letter warns employees of revealing "sensitive and confidential information" to individuals posing as news media.

Although Pfizer does not explicitly mention Project Veritas, the letter appears to be in response to the outlet’s viral video depicting Pfizer executive, Jordon Trishton Walker, claiming that the company is exploring a way to “mutate” COVID-19 through “directed evolution."

"Fact-based information rooted in sound science is vitally important to preserving Pfizer's scientific innovations, reputation, and trust with business partners, and ultimately enables us to deliver breakthroughs for patients," reads an internal letter from Pfizer. "Anti-science activists are becoming increasingly brazen in their drive to manipulate information, fueling the spread of baseless claims and endangering public health."

The letter suggests employees of Pfizer are an "ongoing target" for anti-science activists. "We are aware of and managing a recent incident where one of our colleagues was baited into conversation in a social situation and recorded without their knowledge," the letter continues appearing to reference Project Veritas.

Pfizer further referred to the video as "manipulated."

"The tactics of these activists can be surprising and confrontational — including targeting specific individuals who are perceived to have confidential information about our science and in particular our COVID-19 vaccine," the letter continued. "This targeting can happen online through social media and dating apps as well as in person through industry conferences or simple social situations, such as a casual conversation with a new acquaintance in a bar, on a date, or at a party."

“As Pfizer colleagues, we all have much to be proud of in the work that we do each and every day and enjoy sharing our work lives with our trusted loved ones. That said, we must safeguard all sensitive and confidential information at all times and exercise extreme caution amid any discussions with acquaintances.”

The letter further warns Pfizer executives of individuals posing as news media seeking internal company information, directing employees to refer media, or anyone claiming to be media, to Pfizer's Media Relations team.

"Only approved spokespeople are authorized to speak publicly about Pfizer's products, operations and research efforts," the letter reads, instructing employees to "remain vigilant" on social media and potential phishing scams.

"Thank you for your diligence in helping us stop the spread of harmful misinformation," Pfizer's letter concluded. "Now is the time to be strong in upholding the reliance upon evidence and logic when science and our global public health systems are under attack."

Last week a second video was released by Project Veritas depicting Walker discussing his concerns about the vaccine's effects on women's hormones and menstrual cycles.
