An investigation into the death is being handled by the State Police Detective Unit for the Cape and Islands District and Edgartown Police.
It is currently unclear if the deceased had any connection to the former president, or if Obama is currently staying at the estate.
Obama is known to be a big fan of paddleboarding himself.
