High Profile Twitter Users Express Anger Following Musk's Twitter Purchase

Shortly after Elon Musk's acquisition of the social media site, a slew of high-profile Twitter users expressed frustration with the tech billionaire.

Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec, who celebrated Twitter's sale acquisition during a Thursday night appearance on Timcast IRL, noted an exchange between the tech billionaire and one user with the handle "Catturd" regarding seemingly malicious censorship tactics previously employed by the platform. Musk simply responded, "I will be digging in more today."

"BREAKING: Elon Musk is now working with @catturd2 to free the Twitter algorithm,"

Former sports journalist Keith Olbermann appeared upset by Posobiec's tweet, replying, "You do know the bunch of you are just paranoid morons, right? And dumb ones at that?"

Olbermann redirected his criticism towards Musk by reposting the thread in question shortly after his response to Posobiec.

"Hi. I'm @elonmusk and I just took $44,000,000,000 and urinated on it and then lit it on fire so I could be the one to reassure a terrified anonymous right wing nutjob troll who fulfills the latest Trumpcult paranoia by self-identifying as a cat that I WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF IT."

"It's like the gates of hell opened on this site tonight," said the Washington Post's Taylor Lorenz. In April, Lorenz was denounced for doxxing the account owner of "Libs of Tik Tok."

"Emboldened trolls are spewing racist slurs and Nazi memes since [Elon Musk] took the helm of the company," Lorenz wrote, sharing an article from her outlet in a separate tweet thread. "Hate is rampant and one post screaming the n-word has more than 4,000 likes."

Lorenz urged Twitter users to reach out to her over instances of "hate going viral" or providing instances of "harassment or bigotry."

"This is what Musk has emboldened and exactly what free speech absolutism on social media results in, nazi trolls," said Alejandra Caraballo in response to the article shared by Lorenz.

"I'm not going anywhere. F--- trump and f--- Elon,” said Majid Padellan who goes by the handle "BrooklynDad_Defiant!" on Twitter. Padellan was previously paid by a Democratic political action committee (PAC) during the 2020 Presidential election.

"IM UP AND F--- ALL MAGA*," said Tony Posnanski."

"*trying to get in as many of these before I’m suspended," Posnanski continued jokingly suggesting Musk's purchase could result in censorship towards left-leaning accounts.

"[Elon Musk] will fight to the end to make sure those who would repeat this atrocity have a free voice on Twitter," said lawyer Bradley P. Moss.

"The Nazis, bigots and groypers are back," Moss continued in a separate tweet to Musk.

"Elon Musk now in charge of Twitter, CEO and CFO have left and will not return. Twitter will be delisted from NYSE tomorrow—it’s now the private domain of one all-powerful person," said New England Complex Systems Institute Covid Task Force chief Eric Feigl-Ding. "God save @Twitter and humanity."
