Gina Carano released a private message she received from former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo upon her infamous 2021 cancellation from Disney and Lucasfilm.
On Wednesday, a video of Cuomo discussing alternative medicine on the Patrick Bet-David Podcast made its rounds across social media. In the clip, Cuomo revealed he is currently taking a regular dose of Ivermectin, a highly contested medication prescribed to treat the viral infection of COVID-19.
"Ivermectin was the boogeyman early on in Covid. That was wrong," Cuomo said, noting CNN and other corporate media outlets were given "bad information" about the medication. "The real question is 'Why?' The entire clinical community knew that ivermectin couldn't hurt you. They knew it. How do I know? Because now I am doing nothing but talking to these clinicians."
The former CNN anchor's remarks on Ivermectin were panned as users noted Cuomo insisted those using Ivermectin during the pandemic should be "shamed."
Carano, who was terminated from Lucasfilm in early 2021 after the company took issue with a post made to her social media referencing the Holocaust, responded to Cuomo's video in a long X post featuring a screenshot of a direct message she received from Cuomo upon her cancellation.
"Chris Cuomo from CNN. Would you like a chance to clarify where your head and heart are before you get defined permanently by others?" the then-CNN anchor asked Carano.
Cuomo followed up his message shortly after with three question marks.
"It does matter that Joe Rogan was raising questions and took the heat, trending every other day, being mocked by people like you and the organization you worked for," Carano wrote of the podcast host in her X post. "He was threatened and pressured by the higher ups and mob to be cancelled, it could have cost him everything. He was doing the job you should have been doing."
"Now you’re still making excuses for these people," Carano added of Cuomo's change of heart on Ivermectin.
"You mean to tell me Dr. Fauci, the FDA and medical community just didn’t know about the 2015 Noble Prize winning drug Ivermectin," the former Disney actress continued. "You were just given wrong information right, ignoring and supporting the censorship of part of the legitimate medical community who were pushing back?"
Carano continued:You say people were just resisting the government OR, had they seen and been vaccine injured and were asking legitimate questions, critically thinking like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been doing for years. You were a part of one the most powerful news organizations in the world and you bullied and shamed the genuine questions from the public that you were supposed to be offering unbiased news to. Instead, you all called them “anti vaxxers” and “alt right extremists”. Don’t try and change the story now. Show some humility. People weren’t allowed to sit next to their loved ones as they died because of the propaganda you spread!
"This phase in major news media history will go down as one of the most embarrassing, destructive moments that cost people’s lives and careers, broke up families and destroyed our economy," she continued. "You don’t look like a hero now, you look arrogant with no idea how deep this goes for the people this destroyed."
Carano then commented on the direct message received from Cuomo on Feb. 11, 2021, noting she had been fired by Lucasfilm the prior day.
"Question. Gina Carano here, would you like a chance to clarify where your head and heart are before you get defined permanently by others," she wrote mocking Cuomo's three-year-old message.
In February, Carano sued Disney and LucasFilm over what she claimed was false termination over her misrepresented social media posts.
