Fox News is facing backlash from former President Donald Trump's spokeswoman after editing an interview he did with Dan Bongino to remove claims about the election being stolen.
During Saturday night's interview with Unfiltered, Trump had asserted that "you have a fake election, you have an election with voter abuse and voter fraud like nobody’s ever seen before.""It’s a disgrace what’s happening, and I don’t think the country’s gonna stand for much longer, they are disgusted. You have a fake election, you have an election with voter abuse and voter fraud like nobody’s ever seen before, and based on that, and based on what happened, they are destroying our country, whether its at the border, whether its on crime, and plenty of instances, including military," Trump had said.
However, that portion was missing when it was posted online by Fox News.
Liz Harrington, a former Republican National Committee spokeswoman who is now the spokeswoman for Trump, posted an unedited clip of the interview and blasted the network.
"WOW. So I went to post a clip from President Trump's great interview from @FoxNews last night, and lo and behold, Fox News EDITED and CHANGED what President Trump said, censoring out 45 accurately describing the Fake Election," Harrington tweeted with the clip.
“This is just as bad as Big Tech,” Harrington continued. “They are putting President Trump’s honest statement, and the concerns of tens of millions of Americans, down the Memory Hole. I guess it’s FILTERED after all, @dbongino.”
Bongino responded with a statement saying that he was unaware of the censorship and would be looking into it.
Harrington went on to point out that Bongino is a "great friend of America first" and that it was the fault of Fox News, not him.
"It was Fox News who cut out President Trump's statement about the Fake Election, just like they have cut out coverage of the election fraud ever since," Harrington wrote.
Fox News is being sued by Dominion and Smartmatic voting companies for questioning the election.
