A Pennsylvania man has been arrested days after confronting a drag queen during an all-ages "Valentine's Drag Queen Bingo" church event.
The incident occurred Monday at the Third Independent Presbyterian Church, but he was not arrested until Wednesday.
The man who was arrested, Tim McClain, told SCNR that he had attended the event to see what was going on despite fiercely opposing it taking place.
After he arrived and paid the $30 door fee, McClain said he saw the drag queen performing a strip tease and taking money from attendees while children were present.
Much of the incident was captured on video, which was provided to SCNR — however, the alleged strip tease did not appear in the footage. The drag queen appears to be wearing a lacy burgundy dress during the scuffle. His bra and undergarments were visible through the lace.
McClain stood up and shouted that it was "blasphemy" and "disgusting" that this was happening with children present.
"As I was walking to the exit, the congregation attacked me," McClain said.
McClain has a rare auto-immune disease where his body attacks itself. The slightest touch can cause his skin to rupture. After the incident, his back looked like it had been shredded apart.
On Wednesday, McClain provided SCNR with his charging document, showing that he has been charged with simple assault and harassment.
There had been heated debate about the event on the church's Facebook page and its event page in the days prior.
McClain had been involved with the discussion, promising to film the event and voicing his opposition.
The day before the event, a woman named Kimberlie Reiter posted on the Facebook event page and asked, "Is there an age limit? My 14 yo wants to go. Is there beer or byob?"
The church responded, "Anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult (so if you want to bring your own children, that's fine). You may bring your own beverages."
Another person named Thomas Bauer had asked on the church's Facebook page, "is this at least 18+ or are you allowing children to be present while grown men dress as prostitutes and dance suggestively?"
The church replied, "Pennsylvania rules for Bingo require those under 18 to be accompanied by an adult, so we leave that decision to parents."
After the incident, McClain and his business were doxed in a local far-left Facebook group called THE Breaking News! New Castle PA.
McClain has now launched a GiveSendGo fundraiser to help cover any legal fees he incurs while fighting the charges. Those who wish to donate can do so here.
