Ed Krassenstein, Amy Siskind Claim Video Of Metallica Concert Is From DNC

Activist Amy Siskind and political commentator Ed Krassenstein shared a video of a recent Metallica concert at the U.S. Bank Arena in Minneapolis and claimed it depicted a full house at Monday night's Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.

U.S. Bank Stadium's logo along with Metallica stage decor can be seen in the video as the crowd performs the wave.

The 2024 DNC is being held in Chicago's United Center, which can hold up to 23,500 while the U.S. Bank Arena boasts upwards of 73,000 for concerts.

"Such an excitement!" Siskind wrote in her original post. "Democrats doing the wave inside the DNC. LFG!!!"

"Anyone who says the DNC is empty is lying," Krassenstein also wrote in his post. "This place is rocking! They are afraid to admit that."

The two later deleted their posts after online sleuths, including YouTuber Dom Lucre, noted the video was from Saturday's sold out Metallica concert in Minneapolis.

"I made a mistake and deleted it within minutes and issued a correction," Krassenstein said in response to Lucre. "I shared a video posted by someone else who I trusted and quickly corrected the mistake."

Krassenstein then turned his frustration towards Lucre, who has also been criticized for sharing misleading information online.

"How many times have you been community noted? You just don’t correct your misinformation and lies," he wrote.

One user insisted Krassenstein knew the video was from the Metallica concert, though Krassenstein denied the claim.

"No I literally didn’t. Amy Siskind posted the video saying it was the DNC and I reshared it assuming she was there," Krassenstein wrote.

Although she deleted her original post, Siskind did not acknowledge the video was not from Monday night's DNC.

Ed Krassenstein's brother, Brian, later shared an actual image from the DNC's opening night in Chicago while taking aim at Republicans who have criticized the crowd sizes of Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign rallies.

"While Republicans are continuing to use crowd size as some sort of metric since they have no actual policies, I can assure you all that the Democratic National Convention has been sold out. Nobody can get tickets," he wrote.

"The security lines are long because of what’s happening outside and they are making sure that, the convention is as safe as possible, but I assure you that there are no empty [sic] by the time Biden speaks," he added.
