Former CNN host Don Lemon is launching a new show exclusively on X.
Lemon announced his new show in a Tuesday X post.
"I've heard you ... and today I am back bigger, bolder, freer!" Lemon wrote. "My new media company's first project is The Don Lemon Show. It will be available to everyone, easily, whenever and wherever you want it, streaming on the platform where the conversations are happening."
Lemon said the show will available first on X, noting the platform was "the biggest space for free speech in the world."
"I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors," he concluded. "This is just the beginning, so stay tuned."
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson congratulated Lemon on his announcement saying, "It's a new world. Welcome."
Last April, Lemon was unexpectedly terminated from CNN after a 17-year long tenure with the network.
The former CNN host revealed his ousting in a post to X, then Twitter.
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN,” Lemon wrote to Twitter. “I am stunned.”
“I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly,” he said.
“At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play,” Lemon continued. “With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.”
Carlson was also unexpectedly let go from his former network on the same day as Lemon.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” read Fox News’ statement revealing Carlson’s departure.
The following May, X owner Elon Musk suggested Lemon host a show on the platform, though Lemon did not respond to the tech mogul.
That same month, Carlson launched his independent show on the social media site named Tucker on Twitter, later rebranded to Tucker on X.
In December, Carlson announced the launch of his own independent media company called the Tucker Carlson Network (TCN).
TCN features expanded interviews and segments originally featured on X including a series of long-form programs including, The Tucker Carlson Encounter, Tucker Carlson Uncensored, The Tucker Carlson Interview, Tucker Carlson Shorts, Ask Tucker, After the Tucker Carlson Interview, Tucker Carlson Sworn Enemy Tour, and Tucker Carlson Films.
