Democrat Congressman Says It 'Looks Like' DOJ is Moving Towards Indictment of 'Legal Terorrist' Donald Trump

Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell has stated that it "looks like" the Department of Justice is moving towards indicting former President Donald Trump.

Trump is currently the only Republican who has officially launched a campaign for the White House in 2024.

Rep. Swalwell made the comments during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” on Thursday.

The host and panel were discussing reports that the DOJ has asked for Trump to be held in contempt of court for failing to comply with a subpoena demanding that he turn over all documents marked classified in his possession.

Trump is under a criminal investigation for removing documents from the White House before leaving office and bringing them to his residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

In August, the FBI raided the resort serving as the former president's residence and found documents marked classified or highly classified. Trump maintains that he declassified the documents before he left office.

Addressing the issue, Rep. Swalwell claimed that the investigative team "is not screwing around."

"Whatever you are your viewers may think about previous investigations into Donald Trump, and the frustration that has come with those, this team is not screwing around," Swalwell asserted. "I think that that reflects the gravity of what it’s at risk here with more documents being potentially in the hands of Donald Trump or his team. They need those documents, and it also looks like they are moving towards an indictment of Donald Trump. He wouldn’t take all of these steps unless you are serious."

The far-left politician referred to Trump as a "legal terrorist" and claimed that the DOJ has justification to proceed with the case.

"Donald Trump is a legal terrorist," the congressman continued. "He has benefited for decades by delay, delay, delay. This is a tactic that he is used, but the walls are closing in, and as you just pointed out, there is really no right answer here for Donald Trump. His silence is deafening. It is essentially an admission that he still possesses these documents, which gives reason for the DOJ to proceed with this case."

"We are approaching a legal crescendo for Donald Trump that he has not seen in the years that he’s been in the courts," the California representative added.
