The conservative organization Americans for Prosperity is hosting a series of events nationwide to "remind Americans what prices at the pump could be with policies that end President Biden’s war on energy and unleash America’s energy abundance."

AFP is partnering with select gas stations to lower the national average price of nearly $3.59 to just $2.38 per gallon, the same as it was on the day Biden took office.

In a press release, AFP explained, "Beginning today, in the lead up to the summer driving season, AFP is hosting a series of events in communities across the country to roll back gas prices to what they were before Bidenomics. AFP will partner with local gas stations across dozens of states to temporarily drop the price of gas to $2.38 per gallon – what it was the day Biden took office – and show Americans what gas prices could look like if we remove barriers standing in the way of an abundant supply of American energy."

"Under Bidenomics, gas prices are sky high—and it’s making the American dream unaffordable," the organization continued. "On President Biden’s watch, the national average price of a gallon of gas skyrocketed from $2.38 to an average of $5.06 per gallon, the highest prices on record. Prices currently remain at a steep $3.59 per gallon and are costing Americans significantly more than when Biden took office. Overall energy prices have risen over 41% in the last four years, and the average household is paying $11,400 more each year just to maintain the same quality of life."

The first event took place in Pittsburgh, with the first 100 cars getting the pre-Biden price.

Fox Business reports, "The first AFP gas rollback event kicked off Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sunoco station at 7701 Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh, and the events will continue through May 29, closing at a gas station in Oregon located at 13488 SE Hwy 212. AFP expects at least 4,000 drivers to line up at gas stations this week to fill up their tanks at a bargain price."

“Biden’s war on American energy has had disastrous results and Americans are reeling from high gas prices going into the summer. From shutting down the Keystone Pipeline to banning energy leases on federal land, Joe Biden’s top-down policies have stifled our country’s energy resources and made even things like a family road trip more expensive. This week, we are spotlighting what gas prices could be with policies that unleash our country’s energy potential. A better future is possible if we prioritize reforms to remove energy barriers and lower costs for all Americans.”
