Biden Campaign Rejects Trump's Golf Challenge, Calls it 'Weird Antics'

President Joe Biden's campaign has rejected former President Donald Trump's challenge of a game of golf.

The president's campaign called the challenge "weird antics."

The candidates had argued about golf during the first presidential debate in June. On Tuesday evening, Trump kept up the banter by issuing a challenge during his rally at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami, Florida.

“It will be among the most watched sporting events in history, maybe bigger than the Ryder Cup or even the Masters,” Trump said.

Trump called for an “18-hole golf match” and promised to donate a million dollars to a charity of Biden's choice if he won.

“I will even give Joe Biden 10 strokes a side. 10 strokes, that’s a lot. That means 20 strokes in case you don’t play golf,” Trump continued. “I will give him 10 strokes a side and if he wins, I will give the charity of his choice, any charity that he wants, $1 million.”

During the presidential debate, Biden infamously claimed that he was a six handicap in the sport.

“I’d be happy to have a driving contest with him,” Biden said. “I got my handicap, which when I was vice president, down to a six. But, by the way, I told you, I’m happy to play golf if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it?”

“That’s the biggest lie, that he’s a six handicap, of all,” Trump replied.

Biden quickly changed the number, saying he was an eight handicap.

“Never,” Trump shot back. “I’ve seen your swing, I know your swing. Let’s not act like children.”

“You are a child,” Biden said, increasingly angry.

Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer responded to this week's challenge by claiming that the president does not have time for a game of golf.

“Joe Biden doesn’t have time for Donald Trump’s weird antics — he’s busy leading America and defending the free world,” Singer said, according to a report from The Hill.

Singer also blasted Trump for not being on the campaign trail in the days immediately following the first presidential debate.

“Donald Trump hasn’t been seen in public for 12 days, now he’s inviting fictional serial killers to dinner, teasing lil’ Marco Rubio, praising Project 2025 architect Tom Homan, and challenging the President of the United States to golf,” the Biden spokesperson said.

Singer continued, “Donald Trump is a liar, a convict, and a fraud only out for himself — par for the course.”
